The beginning of an end

I'd been wandering around blogs of some friends of mine, checking out their posts. I came upon this post whereby this friend of mine posted what she thought of the company, which; by the way, is the company which i'd worked for the past 8-9 yrs.

I do agree with her on how some HR personnels handle their staffs while thinking of the just trying to cut cost.

Okie.. so this is how my company works:

The company distributes lots of brands of perfumes in Singapore. However, during the good times, the company wasted good money on non-sales part-timers who are just a losses to the company. Eg, having more than 6 sales person on 4 brands; whereby just 3 good ones will do. out of these 6; probably only 2 are sales orientated, 1 talkative but no sales while always eating snakes and 3 useless, salesless sales person.

Next, a waste of resourses on trying to market 'known' brands on 'Losses' places such as the one outside HMV. okie... so, probably u think that its for the branding kind of stuffs.. but how do u explain a setup cost of probably more than 15k for a 7 day period and this going on for a year or so? well... probably this will indeed increase the branding but how many of this promotions there indeed earn $$? moreover, not being a sole distributer now also has its disadvantage on the brands u try to throw money on their branding.. Yes, branding; even thou i study maketing, i won't agree on how they are doing it.. coz, customers know whats there for the brand but they buy, while buying from little india, mustafa, lucky plaza, whereby some of them are not even taking the products from our comapny..

Now, recession looms around while the company cuts costs. Cutting part timers to 2 per division is serious enough but how do u explain the fact that they hire new staffs who are part timers while not using the more experienced, sales orientated, proven sales person like me? lol... isn't that a 'throwing money' kind of contradiction? Hmmm.. i feel so ____, that i had gone back to the company to pay back the favor while not accepting a higher paying job.. but nvm... the forest is not just having that tree... i'll start looking for another job, freelance or part time... so if u guys do have any recommendations, haha... u can leave down a message to me of give me a call.. =p
