Asset or Liability?

This world is so amazing! Its progressing beyond what we can preserve, with the creations and innovations.
The greatest creation which i think for the past century is this thing called cyber world. This cyber world seems like an endless encyclopidia where u can find trillions orshould i say infinity amt of stuffs which u can fill ur appetite on. U name it, it has it.
I'm one who dream of the future technology but yet, hope that the cultures in each and every country are being preserved. Singapore, for one, has the technolgy and perhaps the cyber world to thank for.
However, thou i'm singaporean, i feel that perhaps China is one, where all chinese belongs to, including me. I love the cultures, the traditions, even thou i've never been there before. The introductory of tvs, computers and of course internet, has bring the world closer together. Everyone knows whats happening in another countries thousands of miles away in a snap of fingers. This perhaps will improves one's economy but the cultures and traditions wlll slowly be gone with the years. This example, can be found in Singapore. Thru these years of "globalisation", how many of u can still feel the excitment of chinese new year? how many of u still celebrates the mooncake festival with a lantern, drinking tea? Perhaps only a handful.
Personally, I think most countries are losing their past, adopting the "westernised" ways of living, changing their beliefs.
Recently, i read that Bhutan, a country that is somewhere in the himalaya, has started adopting the democratic government, which means the king no loger holds as much power as he used to hold. Thats perhaps good for their happy population. But the introduction of tvs in 1999 and maybe the internet has already started some social problems, in my opinion. Their people are more open up to the world, and this has led some of the younger generation to be addicted to cyber games. This, already is a common problem in lots of countries, including Singapore.
Cyber world has brought the world closer, the people closer, and perhaps the races closer. It has brought along knowledge, activities and programmes for the people.
On the other hand, just like gambling or drugs, it may be addictive to the young, old, and adults. cyber games, porn, online gambling, etc will also lead to one's downfall. Travelling along with it are the cultures and traditions that a countries may have taken thousands of years to build.
Asset or Liability? You shall decide.
