The Singapore's defining moment

So, the F1 which everyone had been craving around is finally over, yeah?

For the months leading to F1, the only perception i have for it is that it's none other than an opportunity to bring the image of Singapore up, as well as an increase in sales for the tourist that will be arriving in Singapore.

To satisfy my curiousity, i took up the job as a merchandiser from kelly services, where i sell stuffs from the Singapore GP. The pay? i heard that our initial pay was at $12 an hour, but that kelly services gave us only $6 an hour.. whats a huge 'commission' given to them..

3 tees given to us for the promo, but we were told that we have to retrun after the event.. haha.. so, Singapore is so stingy to the fact that the tees given to us, with all our sweating, have to be returned to them? so, what are they going to do with it? burn it? eat it? or use the probably 10 over thousands of shirts as cloths to wipe the backside?

anyway, the 3 days of race was fantastic! It definitely opened my eyes to what this car sports actually is, and how it had attracted so many viewers to it. The sheer fact that the indifference between watching the live race and the one on the tv, is enormous.

Live race - you can hear the thunderous sound, see the lightning speed of the speed machines, feel the heat and cheers of the spectators smell the burning tires of the brakes by the speed machines and probably as staffs of the Singapore GP, eat those catered food, which seems to tast alike to those SFI food in camps during NS.

TV race - see the car while eating chips..

So, the difference as u can see, is that Live race, u can have ur 5 senses engaged while Tv, only superficial ones.. haha...

Its great fun working in the Singapore GP, even thou Jun xian and me work OT for the 4 days of work. It seemed so easy to past time as compared to the part time which i always did.. Perhaps the fun and relaxation of rules, no politics, good supervisor and the different tourists and customers served.

This race definitely give me a new perception to what F1 really is. The crashes of the cars, the heat of our weather, the warmth of the tourists, the interaction with fellow colleagues, etc, just give me an opportunity to enjoy even greater!! People pay $ to watch, yet, we are being paid to watch...

So, below are some pics taken by me.. Sorry that there aren't any of the speed machines as they are too fast for my camera.. haha...

The crews working at the merchandise at esplanade south booth
